He has been in general practice for over 10 years in Chichester and is a GP Trainer as well as GP Tutor for the local area. The combination of this education role with that of being Clinical Governance Lead for the PCG has enabled him to develop a supportive approach to clinical governance, including the instigation of a protected learning time scheme.
Jim is a board member of the Medical Managers in Primary Care, affiliated to BAMM (British Association of Medical Managers). He has recently been appointed as part-time Senior Lecturer in Primary Care at the University of Brighton, and is involved in organising and teaching on a new MSc course in Primary Care, as well as advising on the development of the Brighton and Sussex Medical School, due to open in 2003.
