My principal responsibility is to the Dental Education Programme.  The biggest task of the year is to put the Postgraduate Section 63 Dental Programme together, negotiate with speakers, fix dates, gather all the information and course details together and then prepare all these details for printing.  We employ a designer (Cate Matters) who does all the art work and film for printing and we hope you are as delighted with the result of this year’s brochure as we are.

That is only the beginning!  I was inundated with the responses from you all.  At one time I had over 125 booking forms on my desk awaiting confirmations, which had to be dealt with in date order of receipt.  As you can imagine there were many disappointed GDPs who did not get a place on their chosen course.  However, I am looking forward to meeting you all on the day of your chosen course(s) throughout the coming year.

To keep up to date, suggestions are always welcome from GDPs for new ideas for courses.  Several of the courses being run this year (2005-2006) are repeats of popular courses from last year or have been suggested by participants from earlier courses.  Some of our speakers from last year also offered to run new courses for us this year and we are most grateful for their support.    

I am dedicated to Dental Education and will be planning to run more courses in the next year (2006-2007) than this year.  Our excellent teaching facilities are even better after a refurbishment with more modern hand-pieces, a bigger compressor, computer screens at each work-station and other improvements that will facilitate learning.
