Paediatrics

The Programme Lead is, Dr Mike Linney, (mike.linney@wsht.nhs.uk)

The aim of paediatric curriculum is to produce high quality paediatricians with a broad range of skills, supported by assessments which are competency based. The underlying principles are those of MMC and summarised in Millers Triangle. The diagram below has been modified to indicate the different stages of development and at which stage the parts of the MRCPCH are expected to be taken.

Meetings include Journal Club, X- ray Meetings, Perinatal Meetings, Regional Study days (PEP days) and Clinical Governance meetings. In addition, you will be expected to take part in clinical audit and case presentations. The learning available in clinical settings includes the wards, delivery suite, A&E, Outpatients and the Child Development Centre.
