See page 6 of KSS GP Study Leave guidance – http://kssdeanery.org/sites/kssdeanery/files/KSS_Study_Leave_Guidance_v2.0_1.pdf
GP Trainees have up to 30 days discretionary study leave per annum. Study Leave needs to be discussed and approved by your Educational Supervisor and the GP Programme Directors.
Study Leave applications will need to be in areas where you have gaps in your knowledge and GP curriculum coverage and should not be used to cover areas that you may already have a lot of experience in.
We feel that up to 5 days maximum could be allowed to prepare for the Applied Knowledge Test (AKT) exam and this should be discussed with your Educational Supervisor.
• Any Regional Study Days are classed as study leave
• 3 days Locality Group (6 x ½ days)
• Organised Learning Sets/DRC = Approx 15 days plus 2 days for residential
(compulsory 80% attendance for DRC, mandatory attendance at residentials)
The rest is discretionary – up to a maximum of 30 days per year in total – to be discussed with your Educational Supervisor
